A public meeting will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, 2023, to provide an opportunity for public input on the proposed project. The purpose of the project is to provide improved water pressure fire flow and supply to several areas of the City through the installation of 12,725 LF of 6”, 8, 10” and 12” water mains, fire hydrants and other appurtenances. The project also includes the installation of electrical and telemetry improvements to the Social Circle Water Treatment Facility.
The meeting will focus on the presentation and discussion of the project Environmental Planning Document in accordance with requirements of the Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD). The discussion will include an overview of the planned facilities, the estimated construction cost of the project and the improvements in environmental protection that will be achieved through the successful implementation of the project. The Environmental Planning Document is available for review on the Social Circle website (www.socialcircle.gov). The meeting is open to the public and all interested parties are encouraged to attend. Comments/questions related to the project will be accepted in advance of the meeting by writing to Natalie Pifer at 861np@ppi.us. All comments received in advance of the meeting will be read and responded to during the public meeting.
