Need an industrial wastewater permit?
New industries seeking to apply for industrial wastewater pretreatment permits must fill out the following forms.
One is a questionnaire that will serve as a guideline to determine if a company needs an industrial wastewater permit. The other is the application for the permit.

The City of Social Circle is committed to supplying you with the highest quality of water possible.
How do I connect for water service?
To set up water service, please email documents in a pdf format or bring them to the Utilities Department at the drive-thru at City Hall located at 166 N. Cherokee Road. All emailed PDF documents can be sent to jturner@socialcirclega.gov.
Service can NOT be set up online.
To have services connected you will need:
1. A legal document of residency, such as a lease or closing documentation
2. The completed application
3. A copy of the driver's license for anyone listed on the account.
A deposit must be paid before services will be connected under the new account. The deposit for water is $100.00 and the deposit for gas is $200.00.
Who do I call if there is a leak?
If you suspect a water leak and have checked to ensure that no faucets are leaking or toilets are running, please call City Hall at 770-464-2380 and ask for the Utilities Department or email rgroves@socialcirclega.gov.
The City plans to expand sewer services
The City has future plans for a new 3.0 million gallons per day wastewater treatment plant that can serve the city and be expanded to accommodate industrial growth.
The City also received a $1 million dollar Community Development Block Grant to make upgrades to the sewer system in the Marco Estates area. The 2022 CDBG Marco Estates Sewer Project will address failing sanitary sewer infrastructure in the Marco Estate residential area. Upgrades will include rehabilitation of sewer mains, manholes, and household connections. The goal of this project is to eliminate issues and safety hazards caused by inadequate sewer service, such as raw sewage overflows into streets, yards, and homes.
Timeline for the Marco Estates Sewer Project:
March 2023 – Survey and Design
April 2023 – Final Design Approval
May 2023 – Advertisement for Bids
June 2023 – Bid Openings
July 2023 - Recommendation of Award and Construction Contract
August 2023 – Preconstruction Conference
August 2023 - Start Construction
August 2024 – End Construction
March 2024 – Public Hearing and Project Close Out
