Where we are

Social Circle spans about 11.2 square miles and lies in both Walton and Newton counties, with most of the community in Walton County. Atlanta is about 50 miles west of Social Circle with Interstate 20 as the major highway route. Monroe, the Walton County seat, is about 11 miles north of the City along State Route 11, and Covington, the Newton County seat, is about 12.9 miles to the west along I-20.

The City has a current population of slightly under 5,000. The median age is 39.1, and the median household income is $69,331. The per capita income is $32,070. The average home value is $242,055. The unemployment rate is 1.8%. Thirty-two percent of residents are high school graduates; 25% have some college; and 24% have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or higher. The community is racially diverse, with 66% white, 27.1% Black and 2.5% Latino. There are currently 153 businesses in Social Circle with a total of 2,084 total employees.
