 trash pickup

Garbage Pickup Schedule

Garbage pickup is Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, depending on the street address. Recycling is picked up on Thursdays.

Proper Cart Placement

The City of Social Circle contracts with Waste Management for trash service.  Please follow these guidelines when placing your bin for pick-up:

All trash must be bagged and the bin must be placed properly to avoid trash being strewn. Proper can placement is 3 feet from another object or bin, with the wheels and handle facing away from the road, on the side facing the home.

Need a new trash bin?

If you need a new trash bin, email billing clerk jturner@socialcirclega.gov and provide your name, address and a phone number. Let us know if you want to swap an old or damaged bin for a new one, have a trash bin removed, or have an extra trash bin delivered.

Extra bins cost $18.74 per bin per month. Senior citizens can apply for a discount on trash rates which amounts to $16.90 per month per bin.

What items are accepted for recycling?

The City accepts newspapers and inserts, cardboard boxes that have been broken down, pizza boxes, kraft paper, cereal boxes, paper towel and toilet paper cores, tissue boxes, office paper, file folders, calendars, magazines, shopping catalogs, envelopes, paper grocery bags, soda and beer cartons, telephone books, aluminum drink cans, tin food containers, and plastic bottles. Items must fit inside the recycle bin to be picked up. Glass bottles are NOT accepted.
