Cemetery Committee
Oversees the maintenance and preservation of the City cemeteries.
Meets as needed at the Fellowship Hall at the Social Circle United Methodist Church.
Downtown Development Authority
The Downtown Development Authority is created for the purpose of revitalizing and redeveloping the central business district.
Board meets every 2nd Thursday of even number months at 1:00 PM in the Community Room.
Georgia Initiative for Community Housing (GICH) Stakeholders Group
The City of Social Circle was accepted into the Georgia Initiative for Community Housing in 2019. This is a state program, provided by a partnership of the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, the University of Georgia, and the Georgia Municipal Association to assist communities in developing a strategic plan to address housing issues.
The Stakeholders group meets monthly at 10:00 am in the School Administration building. Interested citizens are invited to participate.
Historic Preservation Commission
The City established the Historic Preservation Commission to provide a uniform procedure for use in providing for the protection, enhancement, perpetuation and use of places, district, sites, buildings, structures, objects, and landscape features having a special historical, cultural or aesthetic interest or value.
Board meets the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 6:00 PM in the Community Room.
Library Board
The Library is a part of the Azalea Regional Library System.
Board meets as needed at the W H Stanton Memorial Library.
Planning and Corridor Commission
The Planning commission is established to facilitate a coordinated and harmonious development of the City. The Corridor Commission is established to protect and enhance the Highway 11 and the North Cherokee Road and South Cherokee Road Corridors as these corridors have a direct impact on places, with special historical, cultural, or aesthetic interest or values.
Board meets every 4th Tuesday of the month at 6:00 PM in the Middle School Activity Center.
Social Circle Development Authority
The Social Circle Development Authority is created for the purpose of promoting and assisting economic and industrial development in the City
Board meets every 2nd Thursday of the month in January, April, July and October at 8:30 AM in the Conference Room at City Hall
Social Circle Housing Authority
The Authority’s purpose is to provide and manage low income housing for residents of the City of Social Circle, GA in accordance with regulations prescribed by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
Social Circle Main Street Commission
Tree BoardThe Tree Board was created to protect and preserve the trees within the City public spaces and to oversee the protection, preservation, and planting of trees in new construction as set forth in the Code of Ordinances.
