SCMS Students Gather Canned Goods to Support the Empty Stocking Fund

Communities In Schools partnered with the Empty Stocking Fund to assist families this holiday season with a can drive here at Social Circle Middle School. The school was able to collect over 765 cans in total. We had a grade-level and homeroom competition to see who could raise the most cans. 7th grade won the grade-level competition with 400 cans, and Ms. Casey’s 7th grade homeroom won the homeroom competition with 169 cans. The proceeds were able to go directly back into our community. Go SCMS!

City Seeks Input on Installation of New Playground at Burks Field Park

The City of Social Circle invites you to attend a community meeting to discuss the installation of a playground and future park in your neighborhood. We want to ensure your community and children have the opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors by relaxing, playing, exercising, and enjoying your leisure time off from work or a hectic day. We will present several play-ground layouts for your viewing and a playground expert will be present to answer any questions you may have. We will use your input to finalize the purchase and installation of a playground at the Burks Field Park.
Please come out and enjoy a hot dog and drink, and express your opinion about the new playground.
Thank you!
