Georgia Power is assessing the damage and beginning repairs. They do not anticipate completion of restoration today. It may be several more days until power can be restored.
Shelters are set up at Corinth Missionary Baptist Church and Social Circle United Methodist Church. The Methodist Church will be open during the day and Corinth is set up to house people overnight.
The Salvation Army will be serving lunch and dinner today at the Methodist Church. Lunch will be served at noon. Dinner will be served at 5:00 pm. Meals will be carried to Corinth. The bus will carry residents to either location for shelter or food.
There is still plenty of water in the city, but please conserve water and use it for personal use. Wastewater is also OK.
Beware of spoiled food.
It is forecast to be 85 degrees tomorrow. Beware of hot homes and elderly residents or those who cannot tolerate heat.
We are working with the critical care facilities so they can plan to care for their residents.
Public works is collecting debris. You can carry your debris to the public works lot on Vine Street.
A reminder that since the stop light is out, please treat the intersection as a four-way stop.
Please partner with your neighbors who may not have access to internet to keep them up-to-date on developments.
